In a private event last Saturday, fellow bloggers Brooklyn Cinematic, Lady Doshka and I took pleasure as Jo Malone London presented a limited edition collection of scents - LONDON BLOOMS. The collection is largely inspired by the British garden so it was only fitting that us ladies ( & 1 gent) were taught how to build a legendary bouquet by the talented Elizabeth Ryan from the Flower School New York over lemonade and divine treats.
Immediately upon entering the space we felt the spirit of a FRESH and PROPER London. High heels buried into faux grass while seated on shabby-chic white washed picnic tables, we sat tuned-in to the man who clearly lives for Jo Malone.
James McLaughlin, kept us laughing and wanting nothing more than to walk away with a bottle or 10 of their shower gels in addition to the new scents - Iris & Lady Moore. White Lilac & Rhubarb. Peony & Moss. I couldn’t decided which ones I liked so I walked away with samples and a lovely gift bag to try it all on for size.
Much like life, Jo Malone London wants us all to sit in the driver’s seat. The message of the afternoon was to layer, layer, layer! And to not be afraid to be creative and tailor your scent(s) to your liking.
Millennials like myself have abandoned how our mothers did it and are doing it OUR way. Not only how we create our scents but how we lead our lives…there is NO one model. We just get creative and do it!
